In his nearly 40 years, Jerry worked with Sterling Optical, Maaco, Physicians Weight Loss Centers, and Medicine Shoppe International and consulted with hundreds of others. He was recently honored by the Entrepreneurship Hall of Fame for his support of veteran causes. Jerry helped organize this special week, thanks Jerry!      [caption id="attachment_7917" align="alignright" width="202"] Mary Kennedy Thompson[/caption] Mary Kennedy Thompson - President of Mr. Rooter LLC, ex-Chairwoman of VetFran, Class of 2013 Entrepreneurship Hall of Fame Veteran Inductee - Highlight Here Mary Thompson served in the U.S. Marine Corps as a logistics officer and achieved the rank of captain. She started her first business in 1994, a Cookies by Design franchise. She grew her with the company, adding locations, until she was promoted to president in 2004! The company won awards for Outstanding Customer Service under her guidance. In 2006, Mary became the president of Mr. Rooter Corporation, part of The Dwyer Group. The company was included in Entrepreneur Magazine's Franchise 500 and top Satisfaction Awards.      [caption id="attachment_7964" align="alignright" width="150"] Greg Tanner[/caption] Greg Tanner - National Director of Franchising at Aarons, Inc & Franchise Blogger - Highlight Here Greg Tanner has spent 40 years helping veterans and franchisees. He is especially proud of his Tannerisms website. It provides a short course for the best advice in the franchise industry. He is a franchise career has included automotive repair, car and truck rental, and fast food. He is retired this summer as the National Director for Franchising at Aaron’s. He sold over 900 franchises while with Aaron's and he supports the Wounded Warrior Project and serving on the IFA’s VetFran Committee. Greg was named one of the Top 20 people to watch in 2012 by Franchise Times magazine.         ...

He works today to help others transition, just as he did from a U.S. Army Lieutenant Colonel to a successful career with The Coca-Cola Company. He talks about using the leadership and management skills he gained in the military during his more than 15 years at The Coca-Cola Company. There he has established several programs to serve veterans and their families including the The Coca-Cola Company Veterans Day Program. His book was released to reach more veterans as "they Transition, Transform, and Integrate back into civilian life."      [caption id="attachment_6871" align="alignright" width="200"] Ray Margiano[/caption] Ray Margiano PhD., CEO & Founder at Balance Walking and Foot Solutions - Class of 2012 Entrepreneurship Hall of Fame Veteran Inductee  - Highlights Here Ray Margiano has been on the show two times previously, but we did not talk about his military service. Ray worked at Sikorsky Aircraft and Textron but left to start  Heel Quik. He grew the franchise system to over 700 units in 34 countries. In 2000, he started another franchise system called Foot Solutions. It has 250 plus stores now. And he works to share Balance Walking and its benefits. Today, Ray shares his insights on how the military impacted his life and how important he feels it was. Ray also helped recruit others guest for this special week. Her book of the same name helps develop military recruiting programs in Human Resource offices to make it easier to hire veterans.       ...
