Sharat Potharaju – Co-founder and CEO of Beaconstac. Sharat is responsible for crafting the overall strategy and execution at Beaconstac. In 2011 Businessworld ranked him among India’s Hottest Young Entrepreneurs. Prior to founding Beaconstac, Sharat spent several years working in investment banking at Merrill Lynch in New York. In this role, Sharat assisted clients in deriving customized solutions to the issues they were facing by executing multi-billion dollar financing and merger & acquisition transactions. Sharat is also very passionate about politics and public governance, which led him to take a break from his job in New York to work with Bangalore-based civic engagement NGO Janaagraha in 2009. While there, he contributed to the award-winning Jaago Re Campaign, India’s largest urban grassroots movement for voter registration to date. Sharat has a Master’s degree in Engineering Management from Duke University and a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras.
