Scott Lee – Founder and CEO of Gooroo

For an entrepreneur, the most important thing is to know your
weaknesses so you can have people around you that supplement
you and create synergy.

Yongbok Scott Lee is the Founder and CEO of Gooroo, also known as the Netflix of Educational content, which provides accessible educational videos through Gooroo Courses and personalized tutor matching services. Scott is on a mission to reimagine education, unlock every student’s potential, and promote lifelong learning for all. Born in Seoul, South Korea, Lee relocated to the United States with his family at the age of 16 without knowing a word of English. Through constant support from his parents, and with the help of tutors and mentors, he worked hard and constantly challenged himself to succeed. He felt fortunate to have such expert guidance, but realized that it was inaccessible to most of his peers. In 2015, after college, Scott created Gooroo to bring accessibility and excitement to education outside the classroom in New York and beyond. In the past, Scott has also served as the Squad Leader in Korean Army. Prior to founding Gooroo, he held a position as Senior Analyst at JP Morgan Chase’s Chief Investment Office.
