James Rosseau has held very senior leadership positions with AllState and JPMorgan Chase. He became President of LegalShield about a year ago and was on the show then. Susan Akbarpour – Founder & President at Mavatar
Susan Akbarpour founded Mavatar in 2010 and now leads Mavatar’s product, business strategy, user experience and consumer insights. Mavatar is a platform for smart shopping and shoppable content publishing with which users can save and make money, shopping. Susan has 20 years of hands-on experience in building successful and innovative businesses in media, management consulting and investment. She was CEO and founder of Teksia, Inc. and focused on creating entrepreneurship initiatives and organizing technology conference & networking events. She also organized and masterminded the internationally recognized ITF conference and trade show. As the CEO of Linkore, she was in charge of providing venture catalyst services to over 50 start-ups. Susan has been a speaker at various conferences and is frequently featured by mainstream media such as San Francisco Chronicle, San Jose Mercury, San Jose Business Journal, Nihon Keizai Shimbun, and in U.S. Department of State publications. She won the 2014 PitchIT!, was a finalist at the 2013 Women 2.0 PITCH SF Startup Competition, won the 2013 Audience Award (best pitch) SF Hottest Startup Tech Cocktail, won the 2004 Business Journal Influential Women in Business Award, and won the 2003 New California Media’s Community Builder Award.
Rosemary O’Brien – Owner of Veteran Stories and Author of BEST Pocket Parks of NYC
Rosemary O’Brien is owner of Veteran’s Stories, a new service of Pocket Parks Publishing. They will write a veteran’s memories to create a paperback book to pass down to families so history will not be lost. She formed Pocket Parks to publish guides to small parks and public spaces around the U.S., in London and other cities. BEST Pocket Parks of NYC was published in January 2014 as the first guide to those little green spaces in between buildings or at the end of a city block. Her writing career includes three books and covers nonfiction, novels and journalism, offering nearly two decades of rich experience and sound knowledge in direct marketing, interactive media, search engine optimization (SEO) principles and event planning. Rosemary attended the 2013 Entrepreneur Bootcamp for Veterans’ Families at Florida State University and the 2014 NYC class VWISE (Veteran Women Igniting the Spirit of Entrepreneurship).
