Rhett Power co-founded Wild Creations, now Funology, in 2007 and quickly built the startup toy company into the 2010 Fastest Growing Business in South Carolina. Wild Creations was awarded a Blue Ribbon Top 75 US Company by the US Chamber of Commerce and named as one of Inc. Magazine’s 500 Fastest Growing US Companies two years in a row. He and his team have won over 40 national awards for their innovative toys. He was a finalist for Ernst and Young’s Entrepreneur of the Year award in 2011 and was nominated again in 2012. He was recently named as one of the world’s top 100 business bloggers in 2015. A member of the United States Department of State’s International Speakers Program, he travels the globe speaking about entrepreneurship, leadership, and management alongside the likes of Gates Foundation CEO Sue Desmond-Hellmann, AOL Founder Steve Case, and President Barack Obama. He has written for the Huffington Post, Time, and The Wall Street Journal and is a regular columnist for Inc., Success Magazine, and Business Insider. Prior to founding Wild Creations, Rhett worked as an economic and small business development consultant for the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), serving 7 years in the former Soviet Republics of Central Asia. Prior to that he was Director of National Service Programs for Habitat for Humanity, which included being Habitat’s chief liaison with The White House, Congress, and the Corporation for National Service. He now has a rapidly growing coaching and consulting practice. He served in the US Peace Corps and is a graduate of the University of South Carolina. Michael Kaiser – Executive Director at National Cyber Security Alliance
October 1 officially kicked off National Cyber Security Awareness Month (NCSAM), and this year’s theme is “Our Shared Responsibility.” The Department of Homeland Security and the National Cyber Security Alliance founded and now lead NCSAM, which is a massive global effort to educate millions of internet users about the importance of online safety and security. Michael Kaiser joined the National Cyber Security Alliance in 2008. As NCSA’s chief executive, Mr. Kaiser engages diverse constituencies—business, government, and other non-profit organizations—in NCSA’s broad public education and outreach efforts to strengthen the nation’s cyber infrastructure, including leadership of NCSA’s premier outreach and awareness campaign, National Cyber Security Awareness Month. NCSA builds efforts through public private partnerships that address cyber security issues for home users (parents and children), K-12 and higher education, and small business. Mr. Kaiser serves on the Department of Commerce, NTIA Online Safety Technology Working Group and was named one of SC Magazine’s information security luminaries of 2009.
Ian Brown – Feature Writer at The Globe and Mail and Author of Sixty: A Diary of My Sixty-First Year: The Beginning of the End, or the End of the Beginning?
Ian Brown is an author and a feature writer for the Globe and Mail whose work has won many national magazine and national newspaper awards. A recent book, “The Boy in the Moon: A Father’s Search for His Disabled Son,” was named one of The New York Times 10 best books of the year and reviewed in and featured on the front cover of The Times Book Review, and Ian was the subject of a feature interview on NPR’s Fresh Air. The book was also the winner of the Charles Taylor Prize for Literary Non-Fiction, the BC National Award for Canadian Non-Fiction and the Trillium Book Award. His previous books include “Freewheeling,” which won the National Business Book Award, and the provocative examination of modern masculinity, “Man Overboard.”
