Isaac Tolpin started a business at age 9 when he successfully built and sold working wooden toy boats and airplanes at local farmer’s markets. Upendra Chivukula and Veny Musum – Authors of THE 3rd WAY: ECONOMIC REFORM or SOCIAL REVOLUTION the solution to income inequality
A Republican and Democrat duo, Veny and Upendra offer a solution for the income inequality rattling our nation in the form of Employee Stock Ownership Plans (ESOPs). The authors describe a need for a change in government and advocate a system in which people share in profits and equity. Prior to joining the NJ legislature, Upendra was a city councilman for eight years, deputy mayor for three years, and mayor for two years of Franklin Township. He also has served as a delegate to the Democratic National Convention five times and was a Presidential Electoral College member in 2004. He is now the policy-oriented Deputy Speaker of the New Jersey Assembly. He has a professional background in electrical engineering and is considered one of the legislature’s leading experts on telecommunications, science, and technology issues. He has authored nearly 50 laws. Veny broke numerous sales records when serving as a district manager for Clairol Inc. in the early 1980s. He managed the top district in the number one region in the company. Veny then moved to John Paul Mitchell Systems and quickly rose to become senior vice president. He was the longest-serving executive since the company’s inception and has since retired. He is credited with developing many of the company’s most innovative sales and marketing programs. Veny has been appointed to several Boards by the Governor of New Jersey.
