Marjorie Perry is President and CEO of MZM Construction & Management Company. Under her leadership, the has built stadiums and airports and everything in between. Not many women can make a claim like that, so she has become a role model for women and minorities in business. Trained as an educator, her teaching career was diverted after being caught in a series of layoffs within the Newark Public School system. In a fortuitous career move, she decided to try her luck in sales and marketing and went on to become a highly successful executive with 3M, Johnson & Johnson and United Airlines. She launched a consulting company focused on helping entrepreneurs succeed in the marketplace, but it wasn’t long before she partnered with two of her clients and launched MZM Construction & Management. Soon after, Marjorie bought her partners out and became the sole principal of MZM. She has sustained a multi-million dollar bottom-line for the past 19 years and she is now a coveted inspirational speaker and writer, motivating people with the message that, “You too can do it!” Marjorie has received numerous awards including selection as the 2012 New Jersey State Small Business Person of the Year by the U.S. Small Business Administration, recipient of the 2012 Garden State Woman, induction into the 2012 New Jersey Business Hall of Fame, induction into New Jersey’s premier business publication NJBIZ’s 2011 Business of Hall of Fame Best 50 Women in Business, and one of the Top 25 Entrepreneurs in New Jersey. New Jersey Governor Chris Christie selected her to be a member of the New Jersey Economic Development Authority. She was also recently chosen to participate in the Small Business Advisory Board program with UBS and The Clinton Foundation.
Wendy Huang – CEO at China Success Institute
Wendy Huang is CEO of the China Success Institute, was born and raised in China and graduated from Northwestern University. She has been called “The China Success Coach” and coaches Fortune 500 executives and government officials for success in communicating with Chinese decision makers. She is the author of the upcoming book “Win in China – Strategies and Tactics to Capture the World’s Most Fascinating Market.” Wendy also publishes Hot Trends in China 2016, an annual summary of China’s fastest-growing consumer and business trends. She teaches us today how to expand into China, be it through opening an office there or exporting Chinese products for sale in the US market.
