Barbara Oakley – Learning Expert and Author of A Mind For Numbers: How to Excel at Math and Science (Even If You Flunked Algebra)
Barbara Oakley is a Professor of Engineering at Oakland University, and a former Russian translator in the Bering Sea, teacher in China, US Army Captain, and radio operator at the South Pole Station in the Antarctic. Her adventurous and inquisitive nature lies behind her new book, A Mind for Numbers: How to Excel in Math and Science (Even if You Flunked Algebra). She targets this book to anyone who wants to improve mathematics or science skills, but without the frustration or confusion that accompanies these subjects for many. Based on neuroscience and cognitive psychology and combined with practical insight from leading mathematicians, scientists, and engineers, as well as Barbara’s own experiences, this new book takes a new approach to helping others effectively grasp science and math concepts. But, today she is with us to talk about her new course on learning how to learn, so important for us older entrepreneurs that need help!
Josh Alexander – Founder and CEO of Toopher
Josh Alexander is the Founder and CEO of Toopher, an invisible, location-based authentication and authorization application that gives users the ability to turn their phones into security mechanisms that prevent online fraud and identity theft.
