April 1, 2013 – Shark Tank Book and 2 Contestants

Guests: Rey Ybarra, author/producer of “Conversations With Shark Tank Winners!“, Jennie Nigrosh of Green Garmento, and Charlotte Clary of Ice Chips Candy

“The audio file was removed when we switched hosts. Sorry. The cost was prohibitive. If you need the file, contact us and we will send it.”

I will admit I love Shark Tank. My wife and I DVR every episode and always guess about who will get money and from which shark. One thing we know, if they do a bio of you and show your hometown, you got money. Just the other day we were saying someone should write a book about the show, and….. Rey called.

Rey Ybarra is putting together a multimedia book with interviews of the entrepreneurs from the hit ABC TV show Shark Tank. He explores how they developed their ideas/products, how they got on the show, their deals with the Sharks, the Shark Tank Effect, and how their businesses are doing post Shark Tank.

The multimedia book will feature audio interviews, digital photos, bonus video Q&A sessions with selected show members and tips from the business owners on how to be a success. Plus, they share the tricks for getting on Shark Tank. The book will be available soon and will be available in digital download through Apple/Android Apps and Amazon. And a link to his Indie Gogo campaign.

One of the Tank contestants he covers in the book is Charlotte Clary, one of the 2 grandmothers from Ice Chips Candy. Bev Vines-Haines and Charlotte Clary have known each other for 35 years after meeting in Yelm, Washington when they were ” just two moms driving kids to church and school.” Soon, their entrepreneurial spirits had them working together on numerous “money making ideas and projects.” They have researched home remedies, studied herbal properties and even used their families as guinea pigs for strange concoctions.  They have run a newspaper, produced original Murder Mystery Dinner events, and operated an advertising and PR firm. Their newest idea landed them on Shark Tank, and they got a deal! This is a heart warming story and Charlotte’s joy is absolutely infectious.

Also, in the book is Jennie Nigrosh of Green Garmento, who was on Shark Tank on February 8, 2013. Her 4-in-1 reusable bags for the dry cleaning industry were introduced in October, 2008. Her goal was to have the dry cleaning professionals sell her product while educating consumers about an alternative to single-use plastic. The Green Garmento is available in almost 1000 dry cleaning chains and stand-alone stores across the United States as well as dry cleaners and hotels in seventeen countries.
