Sander A. Flaum – Founder & Principal at Flaum Navigators
Leaders are benign paranoid! It’s about continually thinking
about the success of the company.
Sander A. Flaum is also on that list–he is the author of “The Stutter Steps: Proven Pathways to Speaking Confidently and Living Courageously”. As a kid, Sander was bullied because of his stutter–even watching a Porky Pig cartoon with his friends would make him cringe, a cruel reminder of his speech disorder. With the help of his loving supportive mother, a speech therapy program and other tools, he was able to overcome stuttering to go on to great success–he became an internationally renowned business leader, a public speaker and veteran consultant to Fortune 500 pharmaceutical companies. Sander continues to advocate for stutterers through his scholarship program. Sander serves on the boards of The Ohio State University College of Arts and Sciences, the John Glenn College of Public Affairs, the James Cancer Center, and Fisher College of Business, where he also serves as executive-in-residence. He is also the sponsor of the Flaum Speech Fluency Program and serves as a board member of American Friends of Tel Aviv University. Sander also writes a monthly column on the pharmaceutical industry for Medical, Marketing & Media (MM&M) and does a weekly radio show on Public Service Radio called The Leader’s Edge. As chairman and CEO of Euro RSCG Becker (now Havas Life), he led a worldwide team of marketing strategists in introducing six blockbuster $2-billion-dollar healthcare brands. In 2003, Medical Advertising News named Sander its Man of the Year and Becker its Agency of the Year. Following Becker, Sander went on to launch Flaum Navigators in 2004, where he encourages and coaches his clients to embrace disruptive innovation in marketing, sales, and leadership. In 2018, he received the “Lifetime Achievement Award” by PM360 magazine. Sander received his undergraduate degree from The Ohio State University, followed by an MBA degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University.
