Philip Sanderson – Venture Capitalist and Managing Director of IDG Ventures
Philip Sanderson is Managing Director of IDG Ventures and focuses on media technology and information technology investments. He has worked for WaldenVC, Goldman, Sachs & Co. and Robertson Stephens. Phil is the Co-Chairman of the VCNetwork and YVCA, two non-profit organizations consisting of more than 1000 venture capitalists. He also serves on the Board of the Western Association of Venture Capitalists (WAVC). Phil joined IDG Ventures as a Managing Director in September 2006. He was previously a General Parner at WaldenVC for 10 years where he primarily focused on early stage investments in new media and information technology. Phil was responsible for WaldenVC investments in VitalStream (VSTH), Bamboo.com (IPIX), NIKU (NIKU), Sina.com (SINA), Adknowledge and People 3 (IT) and IDG Ventures investments in Funzio (GREE). Phil currently sits on the boards of Telltale Games,Simply Hired, Phoenix Labs, Survata, Next Games, Mastermind Studios, Fresh Planet and Free Range Games, and led investments in BandPage, GuideSpark, AlphaDraft, Plain Vanilla Games, andFreeform.
Donnie P – Bootstrap Expert and Author of How to Catch a Mouse with No Cheese: Real World Lessons and Experiences from an Entrepreneur
Donnie P. realized early in his professional business career that he was equipped with the necessary drive and determination that would allow him to start businesses from the ground up without any money. He used these tools and established Community Case Management, an adolescent substance abuse counseling service. Soon after, he would also create Preventive Medical Services, a community-based medical health center. Later on in 2007, Donnie P. would hone his entrepreneurial knowledge and skills by founding A Plus Home Care Services, a non-medical, in-home healthcare company that focuses on elder care and support. Donnie P. is currently founder of DLHD Holdings, LLC, which is the franchisor organization for his franchise business, A Caring Home Care Services. He is the author of “How to Catch a Mouse with No Cheese: Real World Lessons and Experiences from an Entrepreneur,” and personally has lived and breathed what he now teaches by building his business with nothing more than a pad of paper, a pen and an empty wallet!
