Harry Campbell – Owner at The Rideshare Guy

Harry Campbell is the owner of The Rideshare Guy. When he started this site in 2014, Harry was a full-time aerospace engineer and part-time Uber and Lyft driver. He actually discovered rideshare as a passenger back in 2012 but it wasn’t until he moved from San Diego to Orange County that he decided to give it a try as a driver. Harry started driving for Lyft and Uber in early 2014 because it sounded like a fun, flexible way to earn extra income. Some people found it odd that Harry was driving in his spare time since he had a good career as an engineer, but Harry has always been a huge fan of diversifying your income. Harry quickly realized that there’s actually a lot more to driving than just getting people safely from Point A to Point B. After his first weekend of driving, he sat down at his computer and started looking for blogs, resources or online communities of rideshare drivers. Harry couldn’t find a single one. There was nothing other than a few Facebook groups that had a bunch of newbies like himself asking all the same questions!

Tan Liu – Technical Writer, Statistician, and Author of The Ponzi Factor: The Simple Truth About Investment Profits

Tan Liu was born in Beijing, China. He moved to the U.S. when he was six and was raised outside Washington D.C. Unlike his sister who finished high school and got a scholarship to MIT, Tan took a less traditional path and went straight into the working world. He was employed as a bike courier after high school and later supported himself through college as a freelance photojournalist for networks such as CNN, MSNBC, and Fox.  After a ten year career in finance, he left that career to publish his first book, “The Ponzi Factor.” In addition to his professional life, Tan also spent many years volunteering as a youth mentor in D.C. and Inglewood, California. In 2006, he completed his undergraduate degrees in economics and finance from the American University. He has worked for two hedge funds and a trading firm in Shanghai but spent most of his finance career managing distressed assets for a bank. He officially exited the finance industry in 2015 and is now finishing a master’s degree in applied statistics.
