Patricia “Pat” Seaman – Senior Director of Marketing and Communications at the National Endowment for Financial Education
Patricia Seaman is a senior director of marketing and communications and joined NEFE® in April 2007. She is responsible for communications, media and public relations outreach, web and social media, and marketing NEFE programs, and supports the CEO in special projects such as his service on the President’s Advisory Council on Financial Capability. A lifelong student of personal finance, she is conversant with a wide variety of financial education topics and research. Her recent media interviews include the New York Times, Associated Press, Essence, Wall Street Journal Radio, and Jean Chatzky “The Today Show.” Prior to joining NEFE, Seaman was an executive director of marketing and communications for the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Business for the year 2001-2007. She worked in journalism training programs for the Radio Television Digital News Foundation (RTDNF) and the Radio Television Digital News Association (RTDNA) from 1987 to 2001. In 2011 she was awarded RTDNF’s Distinguished Service Award for her collaborative work with RTDNF and NEFE. Previously she served as a public affairs officer for the Voice of America and the Peace Corps, and as a legislative aide for the United States Congress. Her journalistic experience includes writing for newspapers, including the San Jose Mercury News, and working in television news, including WJLA-TV in Washington, DC, and KCBS-TV in Los Angeles.
Kristen Nichols – Editor at Hemp Industry Daily
Kristen Nichols is the editor of Hemp Industry Daily, where she leads coverage of the hemp and CBD industries. Previously, she worked at the Associated Press for nearly 20 years. She started covering the marijuana legalization movement in 2009 – when medical stores started popping up around Denver – and wrote about the state’s first legal hemp harvest. She also covered agriculture and politics in Maryland and her home state of Georgia.
