19 Apr April 25, 2014 – Learn Chinese w Dan Lubrich, Wells Fargo’s Sean Mabey & Life Saver Howard Leonhardt
“The audio file was removed when we switched hosts. Sorry. The cost was prohibitive. If you need the file, contact us and we will send it.”
Sean Mabey is back again, our favorite guest! Sean is the Director of Small Business Strategy with Wells Fargo. Today he is with us to talk about the minimum wage and how it will impact small business. There are a lot of powerful arguments on both sides. We have a great conversation about the pros and cons, from a pretty unbiased point of view! That doesn’t happen very often!
Daniel Lubrich studies stuff the rest of us will never understand. He holds a PhD in Biophysics from Oxford University, no less, and is a Rhodes scholar. He speaks fluent German and English and some Russian, but has built a platform to help others learn Chinese. While researching molecular computing in Singapore, he started learning Chinese language. and started learning it. He used his language learning algorithms to make it easier. Today, Dan is CTO and tells about his the cool benefits of learning a second language, and how easy it can be.
Its rare to run across a story as compelling at this. Our guest Howard Leonhardt has saved thousands of lives! Howard has 21 patents for products for treating cardiovascular disease, and saving lives. The TALENT stent graft he developed repairs aortic aneurysms without surgery, used on over 200,000 patients. Howard is also very active in the crowd funding initiative and is co-leader of Startup California and Founder and Chairman of The California Stock Xchange. If not enough, he is testing the waters to be a 2018 candidate for Lt. Governor of California.
