Hap Klopp – Founder and ex-CEO of The North Face and Author of ALMOST: 12 Electric Months Chasing A Silicon Valley Dream
For 20 years, Kenneth (Hap) Klopp was the president of the North Face, a firm that created the standard for innovation and quality in the outdoors, mountaineering, backpacking and skiing industries. The firm grew from a back room, 14 person operation into an enterprise employing more than 1,000 people and it was involved in manufacturing, licensing, retailing and distribution in 45 countries. In 1988, Hap sold The North Face and founded HK Consulting, a strategic and brand oriented consulting company in the San Francisco area. He has an affiliated consulting office in Japan and his clients range from start-ups to multi-billion dollar corporations. In addition to consulting, Hap serves on a number of Boards of Directors and along with 2 partners recently purchased the 100 year old rugby company, Canterbury of New Zealand. He holds an MBA from Stanford University and his newest book, ALMOST: 12 Electric Months Chasing A Silicon Valley Dream, talks about the life of a San Francisco startup that seemed on the verge of becoming a household name and being bought by a huge Silicon Valley company. Neither happened and Hap tells us why.
Matt Miller – President, Founder of School Spirit Vending and SSV Business – Get His Free Book
Matt Miller developed The School Spirit Vending concept in July of 2007. With years of expertise in both print media and vending, Matt was able to see school fundraising from a unique, outsider’s perspective. He decided to create a business that would help schools and their clubs or organizations raise money more simply. Year-round, hassle-free fundraising with School Spirit Vending was born! The School Spirit Vending concept and its simplicity has caught on so quickly that schools all over the country are already benefitting from the program with great results. Matt has been a National Bulk Vending Association Executive Committee Board Member 2013 and was voted the Most Innovative Operator Of The Year.
