Nancy Benovich Gilby is a passionate entrepreneur who strives to problem-solve, educate, and inspire. Her experience includes developing 10 high-tech startups and 12 product market launches, and she has been able to take several products from just paper ideas to millions of users. She was part of the original team that invented the pre-cursor to Java,the first group calendaring Meeting Maker, the first indexed desktop search delivered as the mac app OnLocation, the first online community website Firefly, and the first personalization MyYahoo with universal login. Nancy uses her expertise to help others bring their product and service ideas to fruition, and she is enthusiastic about the role that the University of Michigan and Ann Arbor can play in the production of successful startup companies.
Peter Murphy – Retirement & Estate Planning Specialist
Peter Murphy is a Retirement and Estate Planning Specialist. He shares his knowledge with his Retire Ready Series. He is also the author of Social Security for Decision Makers, which aims to help readers chart a course for stable retirement. Peter is a registered Investment Advisor Representative and is registered to sell mutual funds and variable contracts, along with life, health, and long-term care insurance, in several states. Peter’s background includes 27 years as a Naval Aviator and former Commanding Officer of Strike Fighter Squadron Two Five, and these years include tours as a Financial Budget Analyst and Acquisition Executive within the Office of the Secretary of Defense. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics from Wesleyan University, CT and a Master of Science degree in National Resource Strategy from the Industrial College of the Armed Forces, Washington DC, and is a Distinguished Toastmaster.
