[caption id="attachment_4150" align="alignright" width="300"] Mike Volpe[/caption] Mike Volpe Mike is a veteran of the marketing world, with his specialty lying in the inbound facet of the art. He started out as Director of Marketing Operations at SolidWorks, where his efforts were directed primarily towards SEO, PPC, podcasting, and blogging. From there, he upgraded to CMO of Hubspot, a marketing software company, where he similarly heads up many inbound marketing initiatives. During his time with the company, the company has grown from only a dozen beta customers to over 5,000 customers and from 5 employees to 300. He also raised an impressive $65 million in only 3 waves of venture capital. Mike has been featured in such publications as The New York Times, The Financial Times and was voted "The Top Marketer to Watch in 2012" by Focus. Mark has been quoted extensively by other major publications like CNN Money and Fortune magazine.       [caption id="attachment_4152" align="alignleft" width="244"] Mike Dubin[/caption] Mike Dubin Our second Michael is Michael Dubin, CEO and Founder of DollarShaveClub.com. Funny guy, serious entrepreneur. Graduating from Emory University in Georgia, he's a smart guy who has proven his worth in many capacities. Through his tenure with companies such as Time Magazine and Sports Illustrated, he has built a career for himself as a master of marketing at all levels. He used that marketing expertise to fuel the launch of his own company's brand presence in 2012 with possibly one of the funniest commercials in existence. The video went viral (like 10-million-views viral) on Youtube a little over a year ago . If you haven't seen it, you might want to check it out. The company has been enjoying the benefits ever since, and he's hiring! DollarShaveClub.com is a brilliantly simple concept that takes a ubiquitous product and wraps it in a completely new business model. For as low as $1 a month, you can have 5 blades shipped to you monthly. Every new member gets a compatible handle. They offer 2 more tiers of higher quality blades, and there is word of plans to incorporate a shaving cream and after shave into their repertoire. We are going to check in with Michael to see how using the YouTube platform has helped to grow his business and how his marketing campaign has evolved with this growth. Guests: Brian Moran, Founder/ CEO of Brian Moran & Associates http://www.cyberears.com/cybrss/18819.mp3 [caption id="attachment_533" align="alignright" width="300"] Brian Moran[/caption] We love Brian's website, tons of great resources. Before starting out on  his own, Brian Moran spent his career becoming a seasoned professional in the publishing and marketing worlds. He was an assistant publisher at Inc. Magazine and held both the assistant publisher and publisher positions at Entrepreneur Media. He was also the executive director of sales development at the Wall Street Journal, but this list is only a small portion of his equally impressive resume. Brian went solo in 2002 when he started Moran Media Group, where he helped gain exposure for his clients through various media channels. He used this experience in starting his own company to begin helping others grow. Thus, Brian Moran & Associates took form. Through this venture, he helps small businesses achieve their aspirations by guiding their growth and management. Brian has generated significant pull throughout his career, and he has recently used this  to assemble an impressive network of entrepreneurial experts devoted to  helping marketers connect to the SMB market. Brian is also a member of such Boards as the Small Business Entrepreneurship Council, US Chamber of Commerce Small Business Council, and SCORE's National Marketing Council (from which he won the Lou Campanelli Award). With of all this experience under his belt, we expect this to be a very beneficial interview.       ...

Guests: Shep Hyken, Founder of Shepard Presentations and Doug Miller, Founder and President of Urban Expositions http://www.cyberears.com/cybrss/18808.mp3 [caption id="attachment_4142" align="alignright" width="240"] Shep Hyken[/caption] Shep Hyken As a young child, Shep discovered his passion for magic. He started at the age of 10, and by 16, he was living every male adolescent's dream of performing his trade at the Playboy Club. Since then, Shep Hyken has become a different type of magician, a customer satisfaction magician. In fact, he wrote the book on the subject! It's the New York Times and Wall Street Journal bestseller, The Amazement Revolution. Shep has leveraged the concepts of his book and his knack for magic and entertainment to transform himself into a world-class speaker. That's right, as a small business who might be struggling in the customer service/ retention department, you can get great advice AND a magic show at one of Shep's presentations. His clientele has included giants like AT&T, American Express and Anheuser-Busch to name just a few. In 2008, he was inducted into the CPAE Speaker Hall of Fame at the 2008 National Speakers Association Convention, one of only five! Hopefully he can teach us a few tricks on customer satisfaction. Though, we wouldn't be opposed to learning how to saw someone in half either.     Doug Miller Doug Miller is a veteran of the trade show industry, focusing in the gift and merchandising markets. In 1996, Urban Expositions launched the Philadelphia Gift Show, an event that put his company on the map and also became one of most successful gift shows in the United States. Now located in Kennesaw, GA, his company has grown both through acquisitions and new shows, owning 21 shows total across the United States. He has three new shows coming up in 2014, including a show in Chicago deemed the Windy City Trade Show. Through this show, Doug hopes to provide a platform that supports the area's already-strong relationship between industry sales reps and buyers. In this interview, we went in depth into his story and how he plans on growing Urban both in and beyond the Gift Trade Show business.       ...

Guests: The No Nonsense Lawyer Founder and CEO, Hanna Hasl-Kelchner and Lou Doctor, Founder and President of Crowd Supply http://www.cyberears.com/cybrss/18807.mp3 Hanna Hasl-Kelchner [caption id="attachment_3399" align="alignright" width="300"] Hanna Hasl-Kelchner[/caption] Hanna has been helping small businesses navigate around legal pitfalls and has gained quite a reputation doing so. She has the book-knowledge attained through her MBA at Cornell and her law degree from Rutgers University School of Law; however, she has also earned her 'hard knocks' degree through the experiences of starting her own business, Business M.O., the venue through which she helps startups and the like avoid legal troubles. Recently, Hanna co-authored the Amazon best-seller Champions: Knockout Strategies for Health, Wealth and Success from Today’s Leading Experts, which won the Editor's Choice Award. In this book, she strives to cut down the costs of legal ignorance that commonly dampers the growth of small businesses by putting technical legal jargon into an easily understandable and workable framework. And these efforts have not gone unnoticed. In addition to being quoted by countless publications (Fortune Small Business and Business Week to name a couple), she has been featured on major networks like MSNBC and Fox News. Furthermore, Hanna has been placed on America's Premiere Experts which aired on ABC, CBS, NBC, and Fox affiliates throughout the United States. We look forward to getting all we can out of this interview!       Lou Doctor [caption id="attachment_4139" align="alignright" width="231"] Lou Doctor[/caption] Recently (very recently, within the last week and a half!), Lou Doctor and his company have exploded in publications such as Forbes, Inc., Engadget and about a dozen more! "What is all the buzz about?" you ask. Lou is the founder and president of Crowd Supply, a company that has put an extremely innovative twist on the typical crowd-funding business model. Their website facilitates an unconventional method of business that serves as an exciting new platform for early adopters and creators of new products alike. For business start-ups, Crowd Supply offers a platform to raise capital, fulfill orders, manage pre-orders, and supply storage space. These are services that differentiate Crowd Supply from competitors. In exchange for capital raised, investors receive certain premium perks from startups like a free product, preferential placement for pre-orders, or discounted prices. If Lou's track record in e-commerce is any indicator of this new venture's odds, Crowd Supply looks to have a bright future. In his previous online project, BikeTiresDirect, he was able to generate $1 million dollars in sales in his first year, which he bootstrapped himself. If you have that next ground-breaking product that you need to get off the ground, this is a guy you will definitely want to listen in for. I'm extremely excited about this episode for our entrepreneurs out there! Listen in!     ...

My wife and I DVR every episode and always guess about who will get money and from which shark. One thing we know, if they do a bio of you and show your hometown, you got money. Just the other day we were saying someone should write a book about the show, and...
